Bat-Supper
1/99, 13 X 25"
Oil on masonite
This was my own take on Master Da Vinci's Last Supper. I decided to incorporate it with today's greatest super-heroes, and with Batman, the greatest mortal, in the center. He is confessing to his superpowered colleagues, that he does not in fact have superpowers...everyone is in shock with his statement. Going along with Leonardo's original theme, I placed Wolverine where Judas sat...instead of Judas stealing the bread of Jesus, Wolverine is attempting to snag Batman's utility belt, but Batman, even in his moment of vulnerability, is aware of this, and is about to prevent it.
This painting was displayed at the ASA Artist's Ball, in 2004.
