Osaka is a great modern city, with Japan’s third largest population (2.7 million). It’s a calmer Tokyo in my eyes, yet it has its own flavor. A perfect spot to wrap up my Asian adventure.

Osaka Castle.

All of the subways in Japan have markers of where to get on and off. This platform had the clearest instructions of them all. Everybody abides, and it’s wonderful.

This is the Namba area. It’s a great spot in Osaka for food and shopping.

Just like Akihabara in Tokyo, this part of town has buildings full of video games, toys, cards, and manga books.

Hideki Matsui! #55

Yeah, that’s a Ferris wheel, in the middle of a block. Only in Japan.

Takoyaki is an Osaka specialty. It is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special molded pan.

This area has a lot of fun and creative store fronts. Some of them, like these crab’s legs, actually moved.

Goodnight Osaka. Goodnight Japan. Goodnight Asia. Thank you for an amazing trip!
