El Tunco is a beach and surf town, popular with backpackers. It was the perfect place to end my trip.
The town was named after a large rock formation in the sea that looks like a pig. In Salvadoran slang, "tunco" means pig.
Surfing has been popular here for decades.
Nearby are the Tamanique Waterfalls.
There are a series of falls that are swimmable.
Hiking down to the falls is easy. Walking back up is much harder!
Pupusas and horchata, a local drink.
El Tunco sunset.
I partied with a great group of Colombians on my last night in El Salvador.
Adios, El Salvador!
