Mexico City surprised in me in so many ways. It was loaded with beautiful architecture, nice people, courteous drivers, and amazing art museums. I would love to return!

The stunning Palacio de Bellas Artes.

The interior is Art Deco bliss (built in 1934).

Diego Rivera's mural "Man at the Crossroads".

Some intersections require multiple traffic cops.

Rivera's murals at the National Palace, telling the story of Mexico in beautifully illustrated paintings.

Tacos al pastor, a dish developed in Central Mexico, based on the shawarma spit-grilled meat brought by the Lebanese immigrants to Mexico.

Frida Kahlo Museum. A two hour wait, but worth it.

Her painting studio.

The Muso Soumaya is the most visited museum in Mexico.

Museum of Anthropology.

Mayan rain god.

A bakery like no other!
