The Nazca culture was the archaeological culture that flourished from c. 100 BC to 800 AD beside the arid, southern coast of Peru.

We are flying on a plane to see the famous Nazca lines.

They are a series of ancient geoglyphs, created by the Nazca culture to appeal to the gods for rain. The large designs date between 500 B.C. and 500 A.D.

The astronaut, or owlman (284 meters, or 935 feet).

The condor (136 meters, or 446 feet).

Loro, or the parrot (200 meters, or 656 feet).

The Nazca bullt these incredible aqueduct systems that still work today (over 1500 years ago).

Cahuach was a major ceremonial center of the Nazca culture, based from 1 AD to about 500 AD.

Chauchilla Cemetery contains prehispanic mummified human remains and archeological artifacts.

We stayed on the beach at Puerta Inca for the night.
