My American history roadtrip begins in Philadelphia, a city full of history and great sites.

Rocky is always in triumph mode at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Independence Hall was built in 1732. It was originally called the Pennsylvania State House.

This room in Independence Hall has a great deal of historical significance. The Declaration of Independence was signed here in 1776, and the US Constitution was debated, drafted, and signed here in 1787.

Franklin Court courtyard shows white steel frames in the shape of Benjamin Franklin's home.

Elfreth’s Alley is the nation's oldest continuously inhabited residential street. 29 of its 32 homes are privately owned.

Philly Cheese Steak! I prefer whiz on mine.

The PAFA museum (Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts) has a great art collection.

Off to Virginia next!
